Michael Luis is the Associate Director of Business Operations at RMR Wealth Builders, Inc., where he plays a central role in developing and optimizing the systems, structures, and processes that support the firm’s long-term growth. With a background in trading and a sharp eye for efficiency, Michael is known for building frameworks that bring clarity and consistency to operations across the organization.
Michael began his career at RMR Wealth as the firm’s first full-time trader, where he helped establish foundational trading systems and Investment Committee standards. In 2013, he helped launch the RMR Wealth Model Platform, a milestone initiative that continues to shape the firm’s investment approach. As one of the original members of RMR Wealth’s Investment Committee—formalized in 2015—Michael helped set the structure for firm-wide investment decisions that remain in place today.
As his role evolved, Michael took on leadership of the trading department, focusing on team development, process refinement, and operational alignment. His impact expanded even further as he transitioned into broader business operations, applying his process-oriented mindset to other areas of the firm to support continued innovation and scale.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Rutgers University and earned his Series 66 license in 2015. He has received multiple internal recognitions, including the Always Growing Award in 2022 and the Pillar Award in 2024.
Outside of RMR Wealth, Michael is passionate about giving back. He has volunteered for a variety of company and community causes, including the Bloomfield Animal Shelter and the JBJ Soul Kitchen Community Restaurant.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Michael is proud of his Portuguese heritage and values the strong sense of family and community that comes with it. He lives locally with his wife and their daughter, Nina Luis. While he jokes about being a “terrible golfer,” his favorite pastimes have included caring for his dog, Tucker, though since March 2025, most of his free time has joyfully shifted to life as a new dad.
