Matthew B. Levens is Vice President and Financial Advisor at RMR Wealth Builders, Inc., where he plays a key leadership role in the firm’s Public Employee Program (PEP), focused on serving union members, first responders, and civil servants. With more than 25 years of experience in financial services and deep roots in public service, Matt is committed to providing personalized planning and financial education to those who serve.

Born and raised in the blue-collar neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Matt comes from a family of civil servants; his mother was a teacher in the NYC Department of Education, and several family members have served in the FDNY. This background fuels his mission to give back through guidance, education, and long-term financial planning.

Matt began his career in 1998 at First Republic Group, where he led the top sales desk for equity and fixed income trading. He later joined ING to help grow their flagship NYC advisory office. Today, he works closely with unions across NYC and beyond, supporting the FDNY, NYPD, and other key organizations through speaking engagements and one-on-one advising.

He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses, as well as Life, Health, Property & Casualty insurance licenses. He studied at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Outside of work, Matt is an avid basketball coach and musician. He coaches youth travel basketball with the Fairfield Basketball Association and serves on the board of After School Rocks, a nonprofit that offers music lessons to underserved youth in New York City.

Whether on the court or in the classroom, Matt brings clarity, care, and experience to every client relationship, helping public employees build confidence in their financial future.
