John D. Gentry is a Financial Advisor at RMR Wealth Builders, Inc., where he brings over 30 years of experience helping individuals prepare for and navigate retirement with confidence. With a focus on clarity, education, and long-term resilience, John empowers his clients to make thoughtful financial decisions that support both their goals and their peace of mind.

John has spent his career singularly focused on helping people retire comfortably. He works closely with individuals approaching or already in retirement, guiding them through the financial transition and helping them achieve personal milestones, whether that’s launching a business, purchasing a second home, or simply enjoying a secure retirement.

He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut and maintains several industry-leading designations, including:

  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®
  • Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®)
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS®)
  • C(k)P® – Certified 401(k) Professional
  • NQPC™ – Non-Qualified Plan Consultant

Throughout his career, John has consistently been recognized for his professional excellence and commitment to client success. His track record of performance and leadership has earned him the respect of both clients and colleagues across the financial services industry.

John’s approach is rooted in education and simplicity; he believes in teaching clients to be financially resilient and in the power of “getting rich slowly.” While no single designation defines his career, his commitment to lifelong learning has helped him stay current and provide meaningful value to those he serves.

Outside of his advisory work, John serves on the investment committees for the First Congregational Church of Natick, MA and the Southern New England Conference of the UCC, where he helps steward endowment assets for long-term impact.

John’s passion for financial planning is personal. Raised in modest circumstances, he worked his way through college, studied finance because he wanted to better understand money, and today is living his version of the American Dream with his college sweetheart. His story informs his mission: to help others grow, protect, and enjoy their wealth, no matter where they’re starting from.
